Snowmaking Plant Supervisor
Full Time - Year Round
Operational responsibility for the Mechanical Plant of Snowmaking- Supervise, direct, hire and train a 3-4 member team. Assist in the development and be an integral, productive leader of the Snow Surfaces Team. Maintain all pump houses, compressor stations and distribution systems related to Snowmaking as the primary mechanic. Provide the best possible skiing surface using the equipment supplied to the best of his/her ability while following all company policies and procedures.
Valid driver's license with acceptable record, Commercial Drivers License preferred.
Must possess the ability to work in all weather conditions for extended periods.
Advanced education level preferred (College, Technical experience or program certification)
Must possess the ability to work extended (12 hour) and varied shifts
Solid mechanical aptitude required
2 years computer experience required.
2 years supervisory/managerial experience in Snow Surfaces preferred. Proven ability to lead a team to meet objectives on time required.
Advance knowledge of snowmaking pumps, valves and compressors and electrical distribution equipment required.
Must possess the ability to clearly communicate goals and directions to the team and team leadership.
Ability to demonstrate and ensure safe working practices with reference to snowmaking, grooming and trail maintenance operations.
Ability to direct the safe operation of heavy equipment.
Ability to perform rigging associated with lifting of pumps and compressors in a safe efficient manner
Must possess the ability to respond rapidly to abnormal situations in a responsible manner (i.e. power failure).
Ability to perform physical activities in open and enclosed spaces such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Ability to perform heavy work occasionally (defined as exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).
Visual acuity necessary to perform work and operate machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach or at driving distance and also to perform inspection and maintenance tasks on equipment at a distance close to the eye.
