Stowe Mountain Resort

Summer Mountain Adventure Camp

Summer Mountain Adventure Camp is open Monday - Saturday every week!

We offer a fun and active camp for kids ages 3-12 at Stowe Mountain Resort. We learn to play golf, we play tennis, we rock climb, we tie dye and do all sorts of crafty things, we explore streams & rivers, we hike, we play games...most of all, we have tons of fun!

Enjoy the  flexibility of a Children’s Summer Adventure Camp pass.  Accompanied by our seasoned Camp Leaders, Heather Jarochym, Jimmy Doykos, Nate Gardner and Mark Aiken, children will explore nature at its best…from hikes up Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak; to “extreme streaming”; to testing their skill on our low ropes course, campers are sure to be challenged.  Campers will learn golf skills & drills and join friends in a game of disc golf, soccer or volleyball.

Campers will also spend a day on the attractions (bungee trampoline, climbing wall, alpine slide and more) at Spruce Peak.  Yes parents…we take the kids to the attractions so you don’t have to.  There will be arts & crafts, swimming and hanging out at base camp with new friends.

Everyday is an adventure full of fun and learning at Stowe Mountain Resort’s Summer Camp Adventure Program, where children have the experience of a lifetime. Check out our Camp in Action.

Kids Adventure (3-6 yr old)

Club Mondays:  Join the club while we make friends and play on the practice facility at Stowe Country Club.  We’ll pretend we are pros, putting and chipping like we’re in the big leagues.  We will return to camp for lunch then on to search the trails, streams, and wooded spaces surrounding the Cross Country Center for the perfect place to build our own Camp Club House.

Tie Dye & Tree Time Tuesdays
:  It’s time to splash some summer color on your camp T-Shirt.  You get to be the creator of your very own wearable masterpiece as we share with you the basics of tie-dying (bring along your white camp T-shirt or something to spruce up from home).  While the colors are soaking in, it will be lunch and off to the trees for an afternoon climbing around on our newly constructed forest features and low ropes.  We will scale, stretch, scramble, and swing so bring your sneakers and your spirit!

Tennis Match, Wet & Wild Wednesdays:  The courts await us!  New this year, we will learn to bounce, volley, and serve like we are warming up for Wimbledon.  Tennis rackets and balls will be provided so slip on your sneakers and motivate for a morning match.   Head back to Camp for a picnic lunch and swap shoes as water is where we will wander in the afternoon.  We  will explore the many rivers, streams, and natural pools around the Stowe Mountain Resort base areas.  We will get wet, wild and wacky while we experience the excitement of ‘extreme streaming’.

Travel, Trampoline and Tumble Thursdays:  Take a trip to the Summer Attractions on Spruce Peak at Stowe for a morning of fun.  Harness up for a jump on the bungee trampoline, ring the bell on the Climbing Wall (height/weight minimum), bounce through the Inflatable Obstacle Course or wind down the mountain on the Alpine Slide.  Back to base camp for an afternoon barbeque before getting to dip your toes in the water.  Top off the day by creating your own Ice Cream Sundae.

Sneak-a-Peak Fridays:  Bring your hiking shoes as we’ll be taking to the trails.  Perhaps we’ll see the summit, stumble upon a special species, or search out slippery salamanders.  Come along as we join friends on a fun-filled nature excursion.  We’ll pack a snack, trek the trails, and see the scenery; Stowe has an abundanant area awaiting.  Munch on a picnic lunch before finishing the day with field games and arts & crafts back at Camp.

Sight-Seeing and Sundae Saturdays:  Set out to explore Stowe Mountain Resort’s secret spots, exploring areas and environments off the beaten-path.  Enjoy a picnic lunch and an afternoon of games including Disc Golf, KanJam, or playing in the pool.  Finish off your day with a sweet treat when you get to make your own Ice Cream Sundae.

Camp is open, rain or shine.
Activities and schedule are subject to change based upon the weather.

Mountain Adventure (7-12 yr old)

Golf & GeoCache Mondays: Take to the trails of the cross country center in search of the Geo Cache treasure box. Using compasses and a GPS system we’ll learn to navigate to a new location each week.  Bring a treasure to leave in the Geo Cache box and pick a treasure from the box to call your own.  During our exploration, we may discover a spot to spend some extra time building a Camp Club House.  We will make our way back to base camp for lunch before joining accomplished golfer, Jim Doykos, in an afternoon spent at the Stowe Country Club practice facility, chipping, putting, and working on your bunker skills.

Rock-to-the-Top and Tie Dye Tuesdays: Mountain Adventure campers will explore the boulders and rocks of Stowe Mountain Resort to learn the basics of Top Roping/Belaying.  Lead by climbing experts Mark Aiken and Nate Gardner, kids will experience the thrill of going vertical on the rock with ropes, biners and harnesses. After a robust morning, lunch will be waiting at base camp, followed by an afternoon Tie-Dying your camp T-shirt and cooling off with a swim at the pool or a dip in one of our natural swimming holes.

Hit-the-Trail Wednesdays:  Join Jim and Colin for a full day hiking adventure!  We will access numerous hiking trails with significant vertical on Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak. You are in
for a challenge.  Jim and Colin have a wealth of experience in hiking/mountaineering and can’t wait to share the fun.

Attraction Thursdays: Take a trip to the summer attractions on Spruce Peak for a morning of fun on the Alpine Slide, Bungee Jump and Climbing Wall.  We’ll take a break and head to base camp to munch a delicious barbeque lunch.  In the afternoon we return to the attractions for more excitement; then refresh with a swim and build-your-own Ice Cream Sundaes.

Tennis & X-Stream Fridays: Bring your game face, new this year we will be taking to the Tennis courts.  Nate will be teaching us how to swing a raquet, serve, volley, and back-hand.  After working up an appetite, we will be back to camp for lunch before heading to the waterways for some “Extreme Streaming.”  This is an adventure where you will not only get your feet wet, but explore the river looking through the lense of our ‘aquatic friends’.

Wilderness Exploration Saturdays: Set out on a hike around Stowe Mountain Resort to explore our peaks and tremendous views.  In the afternoon, challenge yourself and others on our expanded obstacle and low-ropes courses. If there is time, we’ll chill out with a swim at a local swimming spot and then finish off the day with a
make-your-own Ice Cream Sundae treat.

Camp is open, rain or shine.
Activities and schedule are subject to change based upon the weather.
