News & Events

First, the good news: Stowe had great snowmaking temperatures in early November and took full advantage of them. A lot of snowmaking from that first effort still remains on the hill. The bad news is we've had uncommonly nice weather for November since then--bad because sunny, mild weather obviously is not good for snowmaking. Bottom line: we won't open on November 21st as we planned. BUT...(back to the good news) the most experienced snowmaking team in the Northeast is ready, willing and able to fire up the snowmaking system just as soon as temperatures permit. Our goal is to open on or around Thanksgiving weekend. We're keeping our fingers crossed and closely following the weather forecast. You're always encouraged to do your snow dances and now we'll encourage you to do snowmaking temperature dances, too. So, start dancing and stay tuned--we'll update the snow phone and website in a few days.

Caution

You may find unmarked obstacles such as rocks, ledges, stumps, trees, bare spots and variations in terrain. Do not proceed unless you accept responsibility for your safety and equipment, and are willing to confront all conditions and risks of a mountain environment. Lifts and trails exist in a mountain environment, and may close due to weather, usage and/or special maintenance.
