Media complimentary pass policy

Stowe Mountain Resort welcomes journalists and hopes to assist in any way possible with the development of stories about the resort. Because of a number of operations issues and a lack of lodging owned by the resort, certain parameters have been set regarding complimentary products granted to journalists. The resort will issue complimentary lift tickets to qualified journalists under the following conditions:

  1. The journalist must be on assignment.
  2. The journalist must present a letter from their editor or producer stating the nature of the assignment, and when it is scheduled to appear before the public.
  3. Advance notice must be provided to the resort.

Other limitations:

  • Family members will not receive complimentary products, unless the assignment involves families, children's programs or otherwise require the involvement of those family members.
  • Stowe Mountain Resort aims to accommodate the lodging needs of journalists on assignment. Since there is a limited amount of resort-owned lodging available, we work closely with other lodging properties in and around Stowe. Lodging queries should be made well in advance so that we have the best chance of meeting your needs.
  • If the media outlet requesting complimentary products does not reach an audience that matches the goals of Stowe Mountain Resort, then the resort will not grant complimentary products to it.
  • In order to effectively manage mountain traffic at busy times, please make every attempt to avoid resort visits on Saturdays or during holiday periods.

To request a complimentary day pass at Stowe Mountain Resort, contact Jeff Wise at 802-253-3437 or jwise@stowe.com at least two days in advance. Lodging requests should be made at least two weeks in advance. If you have needs beyond these parameters, please let us know.

We hope you enjoy your stay in Stowe!
