News & Events

After seeing sunshine in the morning, clouds & flurries moved back in this afternoon. The forecast calls for steadier snow showers tonight into tomorrow morning, with the chance of a light snow accumulation, so cross your fingers for more fresh powder! For tomorrow, we should see morning snow showers taper off quickly, leaving us with partly sunny skies. High temperatures will be in the lower teens at the summit and lower 20s at the base.

Tonight we plan to groom over 70 trails, including the steep favorites Liftline, Hayride & Nosedive. We also plan to groom the Tyro, North Slope, Fifth Avenue, and Midway terrain parks, which have a combined total of 36 freestyle features. The new & improved Midway small terrain park opens back up tomorrow with 8 new features.

Come watch the nation's best collegiate ski racers compete in the University of Vermont's Winter Carnival races tomorrow. The ski races will take place on the Main Street trail at Spruce Peak and there's plenty of room on the right side of the trail to watch the exciting action.

Caution

You may find unmarked obstacles such as rocks, ledges, stumps, trees, bare spots and variations in terrain. Do not proceed unless you accept responsibility for your safety and equipment, and are willing to confront all conditions and risks of a mountain environment. Lifts and trails exist in a mountain environment, and may close due to weather, usage and/or special maintenance.

Backcountry Safety

Areas of Stowe Mountain Resort marked outside of the ski area boundary on trail maps and with signage on the mountain itself, is hazardous backcountry terrain, containing unmarked hazards such as cliffs, thick, brushy terrain, riverbeds, stumps, rocks & avalanches. This area is not patrolled or maintained. Vermont law states that any person who uses ski area facilities to access terrain that is outside the open and designated trails shall be liable for any costs of rescue, medical or other services.
