Uphill Travel Policy
UPHILL TRAVEL ON RESORT TRAILS IS PROHIBITED DURING HOURS OF OPERATION.
STOWE MOUNTAIN RESORT DOES NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF OUR TRAILS DURING NON-OPERATIONAL HOURS.
•Mountain operations take place AT ALL TIMES. This includes grooming, snowmaking, transportation of materials and personnel and other activities. STAY AWAY from all resort operations and machinery.
•Freshly groomed snow means that a snowcat is in the area. TAKE ANOTHER ROUTE and stay away from ALL grooming activity.
•Stowe uses winch cats to groom many trails. Some indications that winching is in progress may include:
*A red beacon on the ground or on a snowcat
*A mound of snow that the operator has piled across the trail entrance
*A sign indicating the presence of winching operations
NEVER go near a trail where you suspect winching may be in progress.
•If you are not wearing bright/reflective clothing, and if you don’t have a headlamp or a flashlight, you are not visible for others. Make yourself as visible as possible.
•Make a plan. Know where you are going. Never ski or ride alone. |
•Dogs and skiing don’t mix. We do not recommend that you bring your pet to the mountain. Please respect Stowe’s leash law and maintain control of your dog.
