News & Events

Good Afternoon, last night we received 1 inch of new snow here at the mountain, which makes it a perfect day to ski & ride! The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies this afternoon. Afternoon temperatures will be very comfortable, reaching the mid 30s at the base, and upper 20s at the summit.

Last night we groomed 76 trails, including the steep favorites Liftline, Nosedive, and Hayride. We also groomed our 5 open terrain parks, plus the skier & rider cross course, which have a combined total of 53 freestyle features. Make sure to check out the new terrain features and skier & rider cross course that opened on Lower Standard last week. The inside tip this holiday week is to arrive early! Our brand new FourRunner Quad opens at 7:30am all week long, so come early and take advantage of these nice conditions.

Upcoming Event: On Wednesday, February 22nd, come out and enjoy our torchlight parade and fireworks display at Spruce Peak, starting at 7pm.

You may find unmarked obstacles such as rocks, ledges, stumps, trees, bare spots and variations in terrain. Do not proceed unless you accept responsibility for your safety and equipment, and are willing to confront all conditions and risks of a mountain environment. Lifts and trails exist in a mountain environment, and may close due to weather, usage and/or special maintenance.

Backcountry Safety

Areas of Stowe Mountain Resort marked outside of the ski area boundary on trail maps and with signage on the mountain itself, is hazardous backcountry terrain, containing unmarked hazards such as cliffs, thick, brushy terrain, riverbeds, stumps, rocks & avalanches. This area is not patrolled or maintained. Vermont law states that any person who uses ski area facilities to access terrain that is outside the open and designated trails shall be liable for any costs of rescue, medical or other services.
